Uber is new to Alexandria, so the waiting time may be longer than usual.
Other options to explore are rental cars or taxis. The AEX airport offers rental cars from Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National.
Alexandria’s ArtWalk 2019 is a great way to spend your Friday in Downtown!
From 4:00 to 9:00 PM, ArtWalk will take over Downtown with music, dance, visual artists, and craft vendors as well as food and drinks.
Then, starting at 7:30, the ArtWalk will hold its Illuminated Processional at the Alexandria Museum of Art. You are welcome to join the walk or enjoy a parade of illuminated creations and sculptures.

Spirits is one of Olivia's favorite restaurants to visit when she is in town. They have great food (the fried alligator is Max's favorite), live music, and a fun, hometown atmosphere.
Finnegan's is the go-to place if you are looking for a pub. It is a prime location in downtown and just a few steps from the Bentley and Holiday Inn hotels.
The Diamond Grill is the place to go if you are interested in a night nice out. They are also conveniently located if you are staying downtown.
If you are looking for alligators and jaguars, look no further than Alexandria's Zoo! On October 18th, they will be celebrating their annual Zoo Boo Festival from 5:30 - 8:00pm.
Embers is a great lunch/dinner pizza spot for those staying downtown.
Although Olivia has not had the chance to visit yet, Huckleberry Brewing Company has high recommendations from friends and family.
When in Louisiana...you have to experience the wonders of the drive-thru daiquiri. There are several around town, but two of my favorites are the Frosty Factory and Jack's Drinks.
