Out-of-town guests can fly straight into Alexandria's airport (AEX).
If you're looking for a mini-road trip, Alexandria is also close to the following airports: Shreveport (2 hrs), New Orleans (3 hrs 30 mins), and Dallas (4 hrs 45 mins).
The Alexandria airport offers Avis, Budget, and Hertz rental cars. While Alexandria has Uber, I would not rely on it if you plan on exploring.
If you're staying downtown and in need of coffee, look no further than Tamp & Grind.
The Mirror Room is right below the Bentley Hotel and is the perfect place for a cocktail.
Finnegan's is the go-to place if you are looking for a pub. It is a prime location in downtown and just a few steps from the Bentley and Holiday Inn hotels.
Although Olivia has not had the chance to visit yet, Huckleberry Brewing Company has high recommendations from friends and family.
Spirits is one of Olivia's favorite restaurants to visit when she is in town. They have great food (the fried alligator is Max's favorite), live music, and a fun, hometown atmosphere.
The Diamond Grill is the place to go if you are interested in a night nice out. They are also conveniently located if you are staying downtown.
Embers is a great lunch/dinner pizza spot for those staying downtown.
